NIMCET or National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test is conducted by NIT Raipur each year for admission in MCA programmer offered by NIT. Every year around 25000 aspirants take the entrance time out of which 805 successful candidates are given admission in MCA. They are allocated at 11 of the NIT institutes according to their respective ranking. The examination is usually 2 hours long and consists of 120 questions with negative marking for the wrong answers.
Eligibility
The minimum educational qualification to appear in the examination is a bachelor’s in technical or IT from a recognized educational institution with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 points scale and the candidate must be an INDIAN citizen to appear in the examination.

The cut-off list is calculated by the maximum number of marks obtained by the candidate reaching up to 1000 marks. Different subjects have different factors to multiply like Mathematics by a factor of 3, Computer Awareness by a factor of 2, Analytical Ability & Logical reasoning by a factor of 1.5 and English by a factor of 1.
