The Karnataka government will replace 310 IP sets with solar-powered water pump sets in the first stage.
These solar-powered pumps are capable of pumping 1.5 times the amount of water as existing IP pump sets. Furthermore, these pumps will generate 1/third of the total energy generated by the nearby power grid. Previously, in FY 2014, the state government announced this proposal to meet ranchers’ requirement for midday power.
