Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Yojana (PMJAY)

Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Yojana (PMJAY) is the biggest health benefit scheme of the Indian government,  launched by hon’ble. Prime Minister of India Sh. Narendra Modi on 23 September 2018 from Ranchi, Jharkhand. This scheme will help weaker section of the Indian population to get health benefit such as medical treatment, medicines and insurance without paying any money. This is a land mark project of the Indian govt.  This will benefit 40% of the population with low levels of income or with no income.

PM-JAY provides cashless cover of up to INR5, 00,000 to each eligible family per annum for listed secondary and tertiary care conditions. The cover under the scheme includes all expenses incurred on the following components of the treatment.

Areas Covered Under PM-JAY

  • Medical examination, treatment and consultation.
  • Pre-hospitalization.
  • Medicine and medical consumables.
  • Non-intensive and intensive care services.
  • Diagnostic and laboratory investigations.
  • Medical implantation services (where necessary).

Benefits

  • This scheme will provide medical services for the weaker economic section of the Indian population.
  • Each family will be given the help of up to Rs 5 lakh per annum on a family floater basis which means this can be benefitted by all or one member of the family.
  • There is no cap on family size or age of family members.
  • Persons who are diagnosed with any health condition before registering with Ayushman Yojna can also get the benefits of this scheme.
  • The scheme can be beneficial to the person from day one after enrolment.

Non Eligible Persons

  • People who own a two-wheeler, three-wheeler, or a car.
  • Government employees.
  • People with a monthly income of more than Rs 10,000.
  • Farmers who have farming machinery and equipment.
  • People with fully furnished houses.
  • Kisan Cardholders.
  • Those owing a motorized fishing boat.
  • Farmers with agricultural land of more than 5 acres.
  • People employed in government-run non-agricultural enterprises.
  • People who have refrigerators and landline phones in their houses.

Eligibility Criteria for Rural

  • Household with no adult/male/ earning member within the age group of 16-59 years.
  • Families living in one room with Kuccha Kuccha walls and roof.
  • Families with no members within the age group of 16-59 years.
  • A household without a healthy adult member and one disabled member.
  • Manual scavenger families.
  • Landless households earning a major part of their family income from manual labor.

  • Home-based Artisans/ Tailor Sweeper/ Handicrafts worker/ Sanitation worker/ Mali

  • Electrician/ Mechanic/ Assembler/ Repair worker
  • Transport worker/ Rickshaw puller/ Conductor

How to Register for PMJAY Scheme Online?

It is applicable to all beneficiaries who are identified under the SECC 2011 list and those who are a part of the RSBY scheme. It is a simple process to  register for PMJAY online, you can follow the steps given below:

  • Visit the official government website for the PMJAY scheme.
  • You will find Am I Eligible tab, simply click on it.
  • Submit your mobile number, CAPTCHA code, and click on Generate OTP button.
  • Now enter your State and your name, ration card number, household number, or mobile number.
  • If your family is covered under Ayushman Bharat Yojana, then your name will be displayed in the results.

PMJAY Patient Card Generation

If eligible you can apply for the health benefits card but before that, you have to go through the verification process with the help of your documents like aadhar card and ration card, bank details, etc. you can do this verification at one of the PMJAY Kiosk or by a government certified list of members. Once the verification is done your card will be printed with the Ayushman Bharat ID.

COVID-19 Treatment Covered under Ayushman Bharat Yojana Scheme (PM-JAY)

The government-backed Ayushman Bharat scheme also offers coverage against the Global pandemic COVID-19. The beneficiary can avail of medical test facilities at any of the panel hospitals without any money being charged as per the NHA’s announcement. Ayushman Bharat scheme also covers the isolation and quarantine expenses. All the empanelled hospitals under this policy are well-equipped to carry out Coronavirus testing, treatment, and quarantine facilities. It is a great initiative to offer protection to the poor and needy families against the impact of the deadly COVID-19.

PM Modi Health Card 2021

The Scheme has started by the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi. And now it’s running in all the states for covering all the eligible applicants. To provide health facilities the government has issued one health card for PM Modi Health Scheme 2021. Moreover, the government has the aim to cover up more than 50 Crore citizens. The registration process has already been started by the concerned department.
