Madhya Pradesh Nursing Registration Council also known as MPNRC is situated in Bhopal.

Formerly MPNRC was known as Mahakaushal Nurses Registration Council it was established in 1956. This council included Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh till 2005. In 2012 Madhya Pradesh state government renamed it to Madhya Pradesh Nursing Registration Council. Currently, it works under the Madhya Pradesh Nurses Registration Act 1973. From 1956 to 1980 there were 56 colleges only  ANM and GNM training for nursing was provided but their numbers have increased at a good pace and it is increasing rapidly. Today there are 450 nursing schools and colleges that are providing education and training for BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing, ANM, GNM,  and Midwives.

Operations of MPNRC

Madhya Pradesh Nursing Registration Council (MPNRC) work under the powers conferred to it by the Government of India by the Ministry Of Health And Family Welfare Department, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh Government Medical Education Department and Madhya Pradesh Nursing Registration Council (Decision passed in General assembly ). The powers conferred by the subsection (1) of section 33 constituted in council with section 24 of the Madhya Pradesh Upcharica, Pravasika, Sahai Upcharica Pravasika Tatha Swasthya Paridarshak Registerikaran Adhiniyam-1972 (No. 46 of 1973) and enabling them the Madhya Pradesh Nursing Training Recognition Rules, 2018 has been enacted using all the powers. Objective of MPNRC

The main objective of MPNRC is to follow the set of rules enacted by the Nursing Council Of India, New Delhi by maintaining the core qualities of nursing education and training. MPNRC also gives recognition to the Nursing schools/Colleges in Madhya Pradesh. To set a curriculum for the schools and colleges.

Main Features of MPNRC Council

  1. Renewal and Validity of medical colleges and Nursing schools operated in Madhya Pradesh.
  2. The council holds the exam for ANM/GNM/LHV/Post Basic Diploma twice a year August/September to January/February).
  3. Registration of successfully passed out students in ANM/GNM/BSc Nursing.
  4. Online registration of MSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc to students on completion of Nursing/LHV/Post basic Diploma.
  5. Every five years renew the ANM/GNM/BSC Nursing certificate.
  6. To grant migration to students going to work in other states, students going abroad and students coming to Madhya Pradesh for work.
  7. Providing Recognition to newly opened schools and colleges.
  8. Managing financial aspects of the nursing council.
  9. Doing promotional events, seminars and organizing meetings.
