DNC's Functions

The Delhi Nursing Council not only conducts various nursing courses but also registers nurses as ANM/ GNMs. Nurses can apply for primary registration with the Delhi Nursing Council by going to the DNC’s official website. Nurses can work in a variety of government and private nursing homes after successfully registering. In the second half of this essay, we’ll go over the steps for registering as an ANM or GNM in Delhi. But first, let’s go over some of the Delhi Nursing Council’s main responsibilities. 

DNC Major Goals

  • The DNC regulates the registration and re-registration of practicing nurses, midwives, ANM/FHW, Female Health Supervisors, and Female Health Assistants in the NCT of Delhi.
  • It also plays a role in the licensing, monitoring, and recognition of nursing schools.
  • Most notably, the DNC assists in the development and implementation of continuing nursing education programs for in-service clinical nurses, ANM nursing faculty members, and nursing schools.
  • The Delhi Nursing Council is also in charge of grievances and appeals from people who have been denied recognition, affiliation, or registration.

The Delhi Nursing Council has a number of major goals. Apart from these, the council has other minor goals, such as:

  • Its purpose is to give a directory of nurses who are currently working in the state of Delhi.
  • To improve the state of Delhi’s health-care standards
  • It also acts as a clearinghouse for nursing staffing standards, recruitment rules, compensation and remuneration, and other nursing-related policies.
  • Nurses, ANM/FHWs, Midwives, and Female Health Assistants will be able to give safe care to patients.

Nursing Institutions Controlled by the DNC

A few nursing institutes have been approved by the Delhi Nursing Council to provide nursing training programs. Only these colleges and institutes have been recognized. For the nursing programs, candidates can only choose from these colleges. In Delhi, there are several nursing colleges, although not all of them have DNC recognition or connection.

DNC Registration Process

DNC Nursing is where the candidates can register. They must adhere to the directions. They must produce original paperwork that is in order for the nurses to be registered. The official website (www.delhinursingcouncil.com/download-registration-form) has the Delhi Nursing Council Registration Form. Candidates can get the registration form by clicking the link. Candidates must fill in the details and attach the documents after downloading the form.

The following is a list of required documents to be supplied with the application/registration form:

  • Three current passport-size frontal view camera images on a white backdrop, one affixed on the application form and two clipped on the form (ONE photograph certified by employer/NSG Superintendent). All photographs should be taken in uniform, with hair tied back nicely.
  • Photocopies of 10th and 12th grade certificates (duly authenticated). (School Dismissal) and Marking Sheets
  • Photocopies (duly authenticated) of all three/four-year examination mark sheets provided by the Council/Examination Board/Universities.
  • Photocopy of diploma certificate/degree from Examination Board/Nursing Council/University (duly certified).
  • Photocopy of registration certificate (front and back) with parent and other councils, duly certified (RN & RM).
  • Proof of address for the nursing school where you received your education.
  • Photocopy of both sides of the renewal receipt/renewal of registration with another council (duly certified) (if applicable).
  • Identity card, letter of appointment, letter of selection, and other forms of proof of employment in Delhi are acceptable.
  • A photocopy of the parent nursing council’s registration certificate is also required.
  • A passport-size photo is required. The Mahakoshal Nurses Registration Council is for those who are registered with them.
  • Registration and re-registration fees, if applicable.
  • WITH THE APPLICATION FORM, A COPY OF YOUR AADHAAR CARD IS REQUIRED.
  • The original Registration certificate must be submitted. As required by these Councils for Punjab, Rajasthan, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Candidates who have been registered with the Karnataka State Nursing Council must also present an authenticated copies of their registration certificate, as required by the Karnataka State Nursing Council (if applicable).
